Spicy Spears
An easy, healthy alternative to french fries. This is basic recipe, but feel free to test it out with your favorite spices and potatos and toppings for a custom version! I've added sweet potato to up the nutrition value and the tinest bit of delicious cheese. NOTE: The amount of potatos used are an average of what two people eat as a side dish. -- posted by TheMixingBowl
*the* Cake
This will become your go-to basic cake recipe if you think a cake [or muffins or cupcakes] should be moist and rich, leaning towards the texture of a coffee cake. If you're a chiffon and angelfood person then stick with your old lame dry recipe. The secret is vanilla yogurt, and the added bonus is what that does to the nutritional profile of the cake. I don't like this cake specifically because it's "healthier" than others. It's just one of those cases where you never miss the fat! This recipe is a good start for all sorts of culinary creativity. Experiment with different mix-ins, different flavors of yogurt, and different formats. Chocolate chip cake? Blueberry muffins? Lemon-poppyseed muffins using lemon yogurt? Cinnamon-raisin-praline coffeecake? Just remember to keep the mix-ins as small as possible [mini chocolate chips, finely chopped nuts] so they don't sink in the batter. I'm telling you, it will be your go-to base for all sorts of baking! -- posted by [Entropy]

Sausage and Peppers Rustica
I developed this recipe from a series of copycat recipes I've used modeled after Olive Garden's recipe of the same name. It is DELICIOUS!! Everybody I have ever fed it to loves it, and in the unlikely event of leftovers, they are just as good the next day!
Hope somebody out there sees this and uses it... one of my favorites! -- posted by Liz Beginner Cook
Sausage & Pepper Rustica (Delicious!!)
I used to LOVE the Olive Garden dish, Sausage and Peppers Rustica, until it was discontinued. I scoured the internet for copycat recipes, and I eventually evolved into my own version which is, dare I say, even MORE delicious than the original!! As a bonus, in the UNLIKELY event of leftovers, it is just as delicious the next day!! -- posted by Liz Beginner Cook
Mom’s Fantastic Cherry Pie
Mom's well known for her cherry pie. Years ago, she told me not to tell the secret... but I know the secret's out, so here it is! The beautiful thing is that it has only four ingredients - plus the pastry, of course. Mom's cherry pie puts any boughten cherry pie to shame - you won't be able to even look at one again! For a vegan version, use soy or almond milk to brush pie. Oh, and the secret? Almond extract! -- posted by Katzen

Gluten Free Japanese Curry Rice
If you didn't need to eat GF, you would just use one of the boxed rouxs, like the Japanese do (House Vermont Curry, etc.) But those contain wheat flour, so... I like to add a cup of sour cream at the end, which is not Japanese, but makes it even more rich tasting. -- posted by Lelandra
